Foundation Application Techniques

Always start by cleansing and moisturizing your face. Make sure to let your moisturizer soak in. Your skin should feel soft and supple. If your skin is not moisturized at all, the minerals may appear flaky.

Buffing Brush Method

  1. With lid on, tip
  2. Flip jar upside down to allow foundation to disperse on top of the sifter.
  3. Open jar and dip your brush into the powder and tap off any excess
  4. Lightly tap the area of your face that require extra coverage
  5. Using a circular motion work the powder over your face, adding more product using the previous steps, if necessary
  6. If you have blemishes use a separate maximum coverage concealer brush. Dip brush into the mineral foundation and tap off any excess.

Use a gentle hand when buffing. If you are not using a Outside/In Cosmetic Brush you could be causing abrasions on your skin which allow for bacteria to enter causing sensitivity, itching, acne, and skin infection.

Tinted Moisturizer

You can try mixing a few drops of your favorite moisturizer in with your powder, this way you have a light lotion!

Mineral Powders

All of our mineral powders are multi-purpose. We sell them in different sizes according to the most common usage such as larger containers for cheek product and smaller containers for eye products. Mineral powders are crafted into a variety of colors which can be used in various applications.

Eye Shadow:

Applying with Shadow Brush:

Dip just the tip of the brush into your powder, then tap the brush on the side of your container, so excess powder falls back into it. This step is very important as it ensures that the powder won’t fall onto your cheeks.  Brush it gently on your lids, crease or under the brow, making sure to blend it until it looks natural. If you are prone to "creasing", try applying a bit of Mineral Foundation on your lids before applying shadow.

Applying with Shadow Brush:

You can also apply the powders wet. Mix the powders with a touch of water and then apply to your lids for a different look!

Eye Liner:

Apply using the Dry Method:

Dry lining produces a smoky line, as thin or thick as you desire.

·       Dip your angled liner brush into the minerals Be sure to tap all excess powder of the brush
·       Proceed to line your eye

Apply using the Wet Method:

Wet lining produces a bold line that can be smudged when dry.  This will be the longest lasting eye-liner you ever use because of the absence of oils and waxes that are found in pencil liners.

·       Dip your Angled Liner Brush into water or a safe eye drop and then into the powder
·       Swirl on the back of your hand or in a container to create a creamy consistency
·       Apply to your eyes

Blush/Bronzer:

Loose mineral blushes are very concentrated and should be applied sparingly. The simplest way to apply them is with our Cheek Brush.

·       Using the Dip, Tap and Swirl method to get product onto the brush
·       Gently glide the color over the apples of the cheek, and blend

If you prefer a lighter application you can use a cotton ball to apply only a small amount of product.

Other uses for our Mineral Powders:

Body Shimmer:

·      Use a cotton ball and lightly touch it into the desired color.
·      Dust the powder onto your shoulders, neck, arms and legs to create a healthy glow!

Nail Polish:

You can also mix the powders into to create fantastic custom colors.

 Lip Colour:

·       Dip a lip brush into your clear vegan friendly lip gloss or balm
·       Then dip brush into the desired color
·       Apply the mix to your lips and blend well

Or use our blended lip glosses or lip balms.

Brush Care

Although our brushes are anti-bacterial, it does not excuse you from practicing regular hygienic activities as the handles and bristles can still become dirty after time.

·       Squeeze a small amount of facial cleaner with some warm water
·       Gently swish the brushes around to release the extra product on the brush
·       Rinse thoroughly water runs clear, much like you would with your own hair!
·       Let the brushes air dry, with the head of the brush over the edge of a counter-top. Do not let the brush dry upright as the water will run into the base of the brush.

If treated properly, these brushes will last for a lifetime.
