Message from the President:

Superwomen, that is what we are expected to be. We need to do everything efficiently, effortlessly and look good doing it!

So who has the time to look at labels? I did, all the time, for food products. I looked at nutritional tables, ingredients, expiry dates, you name it and I wanted to know about it.

But what about the products that I was putting on my skin? Why was I spending so much time on food items and not even considering skin care products? I don’t know; it never occurred to me. Until one day I was looking up organic products and came across a website about “Parabens”.

Something clicked. Our largest organ is our skin. Over the course of a women’s life time it is said that we absorb 30 pounds of product though our skin. At that point, I kept on investigating. I then found out that parabens weren't our only enemy. There were lots more and I found them in every single product I had a home. Products I have been using for years, name brands I trusted and expensive cosmetic counter products I used every day.

My venture became personal. I was exasperated that I had never heard of health risks associated with makeup and skin products. I had been ignorant to the practices of the cosmetic industry. Blind to the dangers I was painting on my face every day.

I wanted to protect my family any way that I could. I tried to find items for sale but was frustrated when I realized how expensive organic skin products were and disturbed that even “natural” products contained synthetic ingredients and preservatives. Determined to be able to afford these products for my family I started learning how to manufacture them.

For months, I received samples, tested products on myself and read books on how to make them. A few breakouts later, more than a handful sleepless nights and hundreds of hours glued to the computer. My small desire to find a product for me expanded into a vision; I wanted to offer truly natural products with organic ingredients at affordable prices to all my friends and family. Outside/In was born.

So, whether you are a student juggling two jobs, a mother juggling two kids or a businesswoman juggling two worlds. We are committed to keeping you healthy, from the outside in.

Genuinely,

Consuelo Clarke
