Outside/In Cosmetic’s commitment to the environment does not end with reducing packaging, using recycled products, purchasing items sourced from “Fair Trade” processes and going offering natural earth grown or mined ingredients in our products. We have sought out certifications with the most accredited governing bodies available.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)

The largest animal rights organization in the world, with more than one million members and supporters, is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals. Companies that have joined PETA’s Caring Consumer Project have pledged—in writing—that they and their suppliers do not conduct or commission animal tests on ingredients, formulations, or finished products, and that they will not do so in the future.

Outside/In displays PETA’s cruelty-free bunny logo to assure our customers that we do not use or condone animal test. For more information, please visit www.caringconsumer.com.

Vegan Action

Vegan Action is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals, the environment, and human health by educating the public about the benefits of a vegan lifestyle and encouraging the spread of vegan food options through our public outreach campaigns.

Over the past 10 years, Vegan Action has introduced their vegan logo to certify vegan products via their “Vegan Certification Campaign”. Vegan Action administers the Certified Vegan Logo, an easy-to-recognize symbol applied to foods, clothing, cosmetics and other items that contain no animal products and are not tested on animals.

The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC)

Consisting of national and international animal protection groups banded together to help make shopping for animal-friendly products easier and more trustworthy.

·       Animal Alliance of Canada
·       American Anti-Vivisection Society
·       American Humane Society
·       Beauty without Cruelty, U.S.A
·       Doris Day Animal League
·       The Humane Society of the United States
·       New England Anti-Vivisection Society
·       European Coalition to End Animal Experiments

Outside/In has committed to The Corporate Standard of Compassion for Animals, a voluntary pledge that companies make not to test on animals during any stage of product development. The company's ingredient suppliers make the same pledge and the result is a product guaranteed to be 100% free of animal testing.

Outside/In Cosmetics additionally has received an honoured “Certificate of Appreciation” from Tracey Letterman, CCIC Chair, for our efforts and steadfast commitment to eliminating cruel animal testing from our product line. Campaign for Safe Cosmetics

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a coalition of women’s, public health, environmental health and consumer-rights groups. Their goal is to protect the health of consumers and workers by requiring the health and beauty industries to phase out the use of chemicals linked to cancer, birth defects and other health problems, and replace them with safer alternatives.

Outside/In has signed the pledge demonstrating that toxic chemicals are unnecessary to the chemical make-up of products and value on providing customers with safe, high quality products.

Breast Cancer Action Montreal

Breast Cancer Action Montreal (BCAM) is a non-profit activist/advocacy group directed by women who have been sensitized to the trauma of breast cancer (affecting themselves or someone close to them) and who are committed — long-term — to erasing the disease.

The focus of breast cancer research must move beyond its current emphasis on treatment to also embrace a serious search for the causes of the disease and its prevention. BCAM promotes and supports the adoption of the Precautionary Principle as a guideline for action. The Precautionary Principle is a safety-first premise that states that, when there are reasonable scientific grounds for believing a process or product may not be safe, even when cause-and-effect relationships are not fully understood, preventive action must be taken. www.bcam.qc.ca
